What happens during first PT session
 

Initial Consultation
We will always begin with arranging an initial consultation. It is your opportunity to find out more about me, and my opportunity to find out more about you, so that the programme you embark on is one that you are happy with, and is tailored to meet your individual needs and goals.

At the end of the consultation we will understand:

· What are your goals
· Why you have chosen to start a fitness programme
· What motivates you
· Your medical history
· Your current diet & lifestyle
· Exercise likes & dislikes
· Time available to exercise

Fitness Testing
Fitness testing is critical to identify any weaknesses in the body, and design an optimum training programme based on realistic long and short term goals. This is part of the initial consultaion.

This will include:

· Checking weight
· Body Mass Index
· Body composition
· Blood Pressure
· Lung capacity

As well as various tests to establish cardio vascular fitness levels, muscular strength and endurance and flexibility.

The results from these can then be used at appropriate times throughout the weeks and months of your personal training programme, to track the progress made.

The information from the consultation and fitness testing will then enable me to prepare an individual programme, which will enable you to meet your goals and objectives. No two clients have the same training programme. Your programme will depend on what you want to achieve, and is designed and tailored specifically to your needs.
